TOMMY WAS VERY HONEST WITH ME !!!I recently had an issue with my car's air conditioning and initially thought it was a leak or that the compressor needed to be replaced. (My current mechanic is 3 hrs away and being im new to the area i was hesitate on finding someone that would be honest )However, it turned out to be just a wiring issue. Tommy was incredibly honest and transparent with me—he could have taken advantage of the situation, but he didn’t. I truly appreciate his integrity. The business has been family-owned for 24 years, which speaks volumes about their commitment to quality and service. Sue, his mom, is also very kind and welcoming. Now that I’ve had time to process the full experience, I want to be transparent for anyone thinking about taking their car here.When I first visited, Tommy was wonderful — professional, respectful, and honest. His mother was also kind and welcoming. But when I returned for my inspection, things went downhill.The father came in and said, “It looks like I might have to give you a reject sticker, but since we’re in the middle of the month, I’ll keep your inspection sticker on. Once you get that repaired — once I repair it — I’ll give you your new inspection sticker.”That same day, he told me I needed a strut replacement that would cost over $600 including labor and parts. The only time he even acknowledged me was to tell me that. Beyond that, he and the oldest son didn’t greet me, make eye contact, or show basic courtesy — which honestly made me uncomfortable.I later spoke with my own trusted mechanic — someone who’s been building and repairing engines for years — and he confirmed that my strut was perfectly fine. So not only did I feel dismissed, but I was also told I needed a repair that wasn’t actually necessary.Here’s my honest advice: if you’re not being helped by Tommy, pay close attention to how you’re treated and what you’re told needs to be repaired. Tommy and his mother are the reason I even gave this shop a chance, and they deserve recognition for their professionalism. Unfortunately, that level of respect and honesty wasn’t consistent across the board.

My son’s clutch went out. Bill was able to fix it within a short time frame. Some mechanics are great at what they do but are horrible with personal skill; Bill was pleasant to talk with. Lastly, his price was really most affordable around (pertaining to one person review, just because someone’s estimate is higher than competition doesn’t make them a 1-star business or discriminatory lol)

I take my vehicles here time after time and I recommend you do the same.The location isn't convenient for me personally, but I go anyway because of the fair prices in repairing said vehicles and the friendliness of the staff. Bill, Sue, and their children that work as mechanics there have always treated me like a friend and not just a customer. I recall taking my older vehicle there after work once for a quick inspection before a trip. I have some physical limitations that hinder me and Bill helped me on the spot free of charge. The vehicle was a little short on oil and he provided some oil for me without charging me for that either. That is just the kind of person he is.Affordable Auto is also honest. I know next to nothing when it comes to automobiles. More than once, the chains garages will tell me I need this and I need that, when I really don't. I then took my car to Affordable Auto and am advised that part or repair isn't really needed. If they wanted, they could take me to the cleaners because I wouldn't know any better, but they don't. I'm certain I have saved $1,000 or more thanks to Affordable Auto. Buyer beware of those chains. An acquaintance and former employee of one of said chains informed me he was reprimanded for not making unnecessary suggestions to customers regarding their vehicle repairs.The waiting area is nicer than most garages I've been to. Couches are comfortable and television is offered. If you don't care for what's on, Sue will change the channel for you. They even have a vending machine and water fountain.When taking my car in on a Saturday morning, which is very convenient for me considering my work schedule, I took them all breakfast once. Unheard of, right? I think that much of the family. You will, too. In addition to all they they already do, recommendations for other services can also be made. For example, I've lost all my spare car keys and Sue was able to tell me of a guy to go to for that. Affordable Auto is just incredible.I found Affordable Auto through the recommendation of a friend and I want to make them known to everyone I can since that friend helped me. You won't be disappointed.

The dealership where I got my 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 5.3 L from tried fixing the power steering pump. which was making a loud noise I payed them to fix the car and they didn’t. They told me everything was OK just drive it for a little bit and the sound will go away. The Mechanic at the dealership said there is nothing else I could do to fix it. The sound got worse got worse. I made an appointment with AFFORDABLE AUTO SERVICE !!!! They figured it out within a few hours and they fixed same day .And not just that They fixed it at a really good price .Thank you so much Affordable auto service for keeping my cars on the road. They are awesome, great vehicles and great customer service. My wife and I traveled from richmond va to purchase a service truck and from the time we pulled up we were stunned by the professionalism. We had a few hiccups on our part but they were understanding and guided us straight through the process and did everything to help us.
